Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton

This book was a gift. This story is a favorite of mine and I've bought other copies for my friends. I fully recommend this book. I went through a period where I hadn't read a book for months and this book brought me back to one of my favorite places. That place where only a good book and a cup of tea can take you. I fell in love with the story and the characters. It helps when you've been to the Caribbean and seas interest you. I also am a fan of pirates. It's a fun must read. Mr. Chrichton describes his characters flawlessly. 17th-century fiction  )

Sharp objects : a novel by Gillian Flynn

Not my normal read. I read Gone Girl first and had to have another taste and see if the author could "wow" me twice. This book did just that! The twisted ending fit and I had to read who did it twice. Raw, disturbed and calculated is the bottom line. An awesome book. The characters are as screwed up as the title suggests. Crime and betrayal are just a couple words to describe this story!  )

The truth about forever by Sarah Dessen

Huge fan and this story got me hooked on her as a writer. Her characters are real and relatable. Macy is the main character and is dealing with loss and learning being perfect isn't nearly as important as"living". 5 stars I've read this story a couple times just because.  )

The language of flowers : a novel by Vanessa Diffenbaugh

This story made me realize not everyone is loved and kids in foster homes don't always have a happy ending. The main character Victoria isn't easy to explain without spoiling the story. Her life represents her character. Which at times I became irritated because common sense should overcome ignorance. This story brings flowers to life and easily made me want to learn more!  )

Graveminder by Melissa Marr

When I first read the cover I was a little worried. This book was recommended from a friend. This book had me until the end. I won't add a spoiler. It's a favorite of mine and I have lent my copy out several times. In fact, I have just recently borrowed it out again. This book has a small town setting and Rebekkah Barrow has the destiny to fulfill and romance follows. Full of family secrets. Caring for the dead has a new meaning. :) I was easily taken in by the story and the characters. Wish it hadn't ended.  )

Divergent (Divergent Series) by Veronica Roth

First I want to say I fully recommend this Series! I read Divergent in less than a day and was leaving my house in the evening to get the next book in the series Insurgent. I was hooked. The characters are so easy to fall in love with and some are easy to hate. I wanted to punch Eric and Peter and a few more. I fell in love with Four and Tris. I fell in love with Dauntless! I don't want to add any spoilers. I just want to say once you start this series you are in a world that draws you into the characters and a way of life that leaves you wanting more and more! I Went out tonight to find Allegiant which is third in the series. Where I live we don't have any bookstores. I will have to wait to order or drive 2 hrs to get it. I will be driving two hours tomorrow to get it. That's how hooked I am. This story takes place in a futuristic Chicago. Which is my hometown! The author Veronica Roth keeps you on a roller coaster of emotions as she unfolds a futuristic fiction world of five factions that our characters are brought up in and they must choose where they will remain Abnegation, Amity, Dauntless, Erudite,: Candor or Factionless which for most is worse than death.  )Written review #ahopkinsbibliomaniac

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
